Austin, Waco and Peter Piper's Gameroom.

We were in Pflugerville from Thursday night to Monday night watching Colin and Anna while their parents partied in Chicago.
We visited their school - Timmerman, and went to ballet practice with Anna. We tried to eat dinner at Chuy's but after we waited 15 minutes we found that the wait was another 45 minutes so we went to Ka Prow instead and saved Chuy's till Sunday lunch.

Saturday we visited with the ladies in Waco, Granma Dulce and Great Aunt Sudie Pearl. We had lunch with them at The Big House. Following that Bev took the kids to PPP and they had one hour of madness before we had to leave to return to P'ville for the ballet practice.

Jenn got back late Monday afternoon because of poor flight weather and so we were rather late getting back to Houston at 8.30pm and Bev had to unpack and repack for her trip to Las Vegas at 0900 this morning, whew!
It rained like heck from Brenham all the way back to River Oaks and again this morning it rained like mad all the way out to George (the best) Bush airport where I dropped Bev off for her flight.

Here are some pics and vids..

Here Nana shows the kids the Frog Leap test..

The Frog Leap Game

For those who haven't yet figured it out..........count the stepping stones from left to right and use this clicking sequence.

5 3 2 4 6 7 5 3 1 2 4 6 5 3 4

That should do it. Or you can do it starting with 3 and just do everything in opposite corresponding order.

By the way. Paige did not need my help after she failed twice she picked up the idea. Graham while feigning disinterest did it with Paige's help on the third try.
But he was more interested in the game he and Nana were playing so he blew off the frog's leap.

Playing at Nana's

After church we took all 3 kids home for a little while. Here they are playing with Nana.

After this we played the Frog Leap game and PK and GB were both masters of the challenge.

Can you do it?

Another Day in Houston

Evie came yesterday morning and stayed with me for an hour while Mommy and Nana were out doing their stuff. We watched the obligatory Chihuahua Song and then she ate some cereal and we took Patchie for a walk. As you can see in the shots above Evelyn has a chihuahua hat.
In the afternoon Graham and I went to the clay court championship tennis. He was a little gentleman and he got a BIG tennis ball and several autographs of the players. Too bad I don't have a pic but photography is not allowed at the tournament so I didn't take my camera.

Great Feedback

E-Mail.....I don't usually FWD much stuff because I am sensitive to people not wanting a lot of junk incoming.
I get way too much stuff that way and wish the people who just push it forward would count me out.

I do get some good stuff though and FWD it to a few of my contacts who I think would enjoy what I did. ( If you haven't got many FWDs from me you probably didn't vote for W ) And that's OK.

Anyway, I was so moved this morning by this Dallas volunteer that I was tearing up when I forwarded it to about 12 folks.

I went to the tennis tournament again today and when I got home and checked my mail I was blown away by the number of notes I got in response to my mailing of this video. Thanks to all who were moved as I was and told me so.

An Easy Assignment

We babysat Evie this past weekend while Steph and Al and the twins were in Tulsa.

She is at the age where almost everything she does is a pleasure to watch. And her language skills are improving every day. She can now make sentences and statements. "Evie no like that."

Here she is reading with Nana just before bedtime on Saturday evening.

Anna's Birthday

Anna's 8th birthday anniversary was yesterday. Everyone was there just as we had been when she was born. You see Anna was the first of her generation and we were all so excited and happy about her arrival. I remember well that Nana was on an earlier flight and I went to Austin later to be 'just in time' for the birth. However, I couldn't find the hospital and when I finally got there- all flustered- the baby was born 2 minutes before my arrival.

I'm pretty sure we've been at every birthday since. It is always a great event with Anthony making spectacular theme cakes and Jennifer coming up with pony rides or wild assed games for the kids. This year was very successful and there was a huge turnout. The theme for the party was Star Wars and there was lots of screaming and make-believe fencing using 'lightsaber' swords a la Star Wars.

Here's Anna's cake........
And here are some of the action shots covering the activities....

Happy Birthday to you Anna....
