Grandad, there's no mail on Sunday

After church today Nana and I took the kids to their townhouse for some play time.
Here's a video of the fun we had...

Then we decided to have a little snack. Organic nachos! And the twins said grace.

Next we walked Patch to the mail box area and Paige told me "There's no mail on Sunday"

Soon lunch was ready at Del Monte and following that we napped and swam....
Graham and Paige are like two little efts....

Would you like to dance?

Here's the video of Nana, Graham, Paige and Mommy dancing to the Blue Grass music.

Garden Parties all over the place........

The twins went to a birthday party at a neighborhood park yesterday morning

That was followed closely by a visit to Mr Flores' rose garden.

Where Paige couldn't smell enough blooms

This was followed by a picnic at The Mithoff's residence. It was on grounds about like Walton Gardens in Cheshire and was to raise money for a children's charity. We really had a good time.

MFAH Revisit

I went back to the museum today and saw the impression show again. It took 2 1/2 hours to do the circuit at a very leisurely pace. After spending a lot of my 2 1/2 hrs in the Monet room I counted how many CMs there were -10- and thought I was wrong to say there were not enough of them on Jenn's blog.
Oh, the neat thing is they let me in for only $6.50 . Honest! Must be my pleasant air. I saw others paying more (reminds you of airlines huh?) I did notice though that there seemed to be a lot of elderly folks there today, summat about Thursday being seasoned citizens day.

Appraisals.......

I always hated appraisals at work.....except for the few times they were well done.

Today I went across town to the County Tax Appraisal Office to file for homestead and 65+ on the property taxes. I had investigated the subject before leaving ELP and had gotten a certificate from the ELP office as the Texas State resource site had advised.
BUT, the nice lady at the Harris County office told me I needed to take the certificate to a downtown Houston location.........quite a trip and fun figuring out the parking meter. Once inside after a few inquiries about where I should go I ended up on the 3rd floor and in the 'Customer Service' area. "Do you need Cust. Ser. Sir?" said the obviously hungry for lunch young woman. After I waved my certificate from ELP at her she said, "Is it embossed?" ( I got your embossed right here Lady thought me ) But I smiled and said no this is what they gave me. Another nicer lady said she would handle it and did so........The trip was not a complete loss though since downtown (almost) is where the Spec's Wine Store is located... I made a deal with them---and came home with 12 bottles of acceptable plonk.

Our Kitchen

My last post for today, I promise. We didn't like the wallpaper in the kitchen. Here it is, ..............or, I should more correctly say, was.............Amazing what a few coats of 'whisper yellow' will do.

Last Saturday Anthony and Jennifer brought Anna and Colin to Houston. Anth has work to do here all this week. He was really generous in putting together a new sound system for us and enabling TIVO......yeah!
On Sunday we went to the Art Museum and saw the 'on loan' impressionist exhibit from NY' Metropolitan.....it was fabulous.

Here's Anth at work

Hard Work...........

To copy Aunt Sudie's comments on the aging process, .......moving is not for sissies.

With 3 weeks of packing, and 3 drives from ELP to HOU , No TIVO for 3 weeks, no internet for longer than I wanna tell you, address changes up the giggy, cleaning on both ends, unpacking, trying to make appliances work in their new environment, numerous trips to Home Depot, and days filled with painting walls. I'm buggered.

But, things are beginning to shape up. And it is nice to be closer to family. We see the twins often and Jennifer and Anth are coming to visit tomorrow (Saturday). ( Thanks to Anth I'll get TIVO plugged in again along with a new sound system for the entertainment center.)
