Horseback Riding Adventures

We drove to Ruidoso to Grindstone Stables. On the way we felt and heard a big 'boom-boom' on the side/roof of the car. "What was that?"
Nana said. "Dunno, I didn't see anything" said I........
Turns out that 15 mins later when we arrived at the stables they were talking about the sonic boom which we too had experienced.

Anyway we all got fitted out for horses and went up the mountain about 500 feet by a lake and we saw a deer who was apparently guarding her fawn from a coyote. We saw her on guard and got the rest of the story from the lead cowboy. He reported it back to Kevin 30 mins later so I guess it was true....

Here are the pics and the vids....

Oh those are great, with all the videos I feel like I was on the trail ride with you! I wish I could have been on a horse tambien! You guys are so lucky, and you didn't even get sweaty or bitten by mosquitoes. I am happy for all of you. TURBO!

I can just imagine the smells on that ride, and it reminds me of times we did similar rides as kids. Love the picture of Colin with his hand up like a rodeo star. And Nana looks pretty on her white horse!

Do they fly a lot of supersonic flights around Cloudcroft?

I agree with Em, just hearing the leather rubbing on those saddles brings to mind the smells of horses, and that looked like a beautiful place for a trailride!

Horse riding may appear to be quite a relaxing sport to the inexperienced. In fact, high level horse riding requires a good deal of strength and agility which is built up by work and time.
