It was a moving time.............

Aunt Sudie and Bev's Mom recently moved into 'the big house' at their community to make caring for Sudie a little easier and to free up some time for Dulce to continue her line dancing,choir,French lessons and bridge.

Beverly and Cinda did the move job in two week ends and Bev wanted to post some pics to allow friends and kin to see the new abode.

Colin's 5th Birthday

Colin Oliver was 5 on Saturday.
Steph and her kids along with Nana and I went on a one day 'not-so-quick-trip' to Austin for the event. The flight schedule for the return was such that it made the Houston kids 3 hours late for their normal bedtime routine. They did quite well but it was a little tough on them.
It was worth it. Not only did the kids have a great time- all the cousins together, but the adults were treated to a great dinner before rushing to the airport for our flight back to Houston.
Anyway, as you will see from these pics the party was a huge success and ColyOly had a great day. His dad made a terrific cake themed after Col's favorite topic- trains.

Lots of family and friends enjoyed the day with him. Including Auntie Emily who flew in from NEW YORK CITY just for the event and Oma and Ryan and Henley who made the trip from Big D

Here's a closeup of the baby owl. We think there are two in there but only one can be seen. Also, the camera gets confused at the distances and keeps trying to focus on different targets hence the blurring, Sorry.

Salad Days!

Early in the spring, as happens every year, I got the 'plant something' urge.

One Saturday we were at Lowe's and they had beautiful patio tomato plants for $6.
I thought that would be a treat having a productive plant on my patio so I bought one. It was and is the most expensive tomato plant I ever bought.
I saw the same plants on sale at Home Depot the next week for $2.49.

My plant had two large tomatoes already set on it. I had bought some expensive soil for my Meyer lemon tree- shown in an earlier post- and had some left over which I thought I would spread around my new plant and spoil it into being a major league producer. After I did that I waited week after week for it to take off, which it didn't. It has remained the same size for at least 6 weeks and finally the first tomato ripened. Here it is. All $3.00 worth of it.


For comparison, here is a red pepper for which I paid .50c............

Salad Days

Saturday afternoon I went to have a salad at Steph's. The twins were picking lettuce from the front yard when I arrived so I video-ed it. Here are 6 vids of the event.
