Marbles...Here's a quick video of the twins playing with Nana.
Fruit...I received a fruit-puller as a Christmas present this past year end. It's a long stick with a basket on the end. The basket has a little sponge in the cup so as not to damage fruit.
I got this present from Steph because there is a little tree in our area that grows small tangerine-like fruit, many of which are too high to be reached. If they fall off naturally they usually smash when they hit the concrete walkway. The few that land on the vegetation are hard to find in the monkey grass.
Anyway we decided to put it to use today. Here's a couple of pictures ... After school today Paige and Graham helped Nana and me to gather some fruit. Here is a video of the event and all the action.
Tonight Steph and the twins went ice skating and then out to dinner. We got Evie. She ate meatballs (4) and pasta and bread. She is all "Patchie, Patchie" or " Wowa" So of course I indulge her.
She is so scrumptious. Here are two pics and some video.
Emily, Jennifer, Beverly. Anna, Colin, Anthony and I are going on a 7 day cruise to Jamaica, Grand Caymans and Mexico. We have our rooms picked out on the Voyager and have our cossies ready to pack. There are about 18 pools on the ship and lots of hot tubs. We plan to swim and soak lots.
The kids are excited about the ice rink, rock wall and arcade.......... We are excited about the martini bar, being waited on hand and foot and no dishes.....
We leave March 15. (9 weeks and 3 days) but who's counting?
It is cold in England, especially during the winter. It gets dark at 4 pm and doesn't dawn until 0830. So for entertainment for all my lurkers and for those commenters in Weaverham I am loading several videos.......
Well, it couldn't have been better. We saw all of our kids and grandkids on Christmas Day. We started off at Steph's house with a terrific present-opening extravaganza followed by a brunch that was really very good. We had Eggs Benedict and incredible lox from NYC brought by Al and Steph's annual Christmas Day brunch guest Susan. Oh, did I mention the bottles of fizz. Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin. Anyway, The last post had pics etc but here's one of Al putting together a game for the twins.
We got to P'ville by 4:15 pm and had some more champagne with Emily, Jenn and Anth and his parents. Well, we needed more fizz after the 2 hrs+ drive. Then Anth brought out 4 wines he'd been saving for 10 years or so and along with a great lamb dinner with all the trimmings- onions in vinegar, mint sauce, carrots and turnips, gravy, mushrooms, green beans, broccoli, ham, turkey, fingerling taters, oh we had it all.......... Jenn and Anna sang for us. ( I tried to mess it up by singing along but they ignored me, thanks to God)
The first 17 years of my life were spent in Cheshire, England.
The following 17 years were in NYC where I met my life partner Beverly. We had two children in NYC then we moved to Dallas where we had our third child. Subsequently we moved to Cincinnati, St. Louis, Dallas, Midland, Houston, El Paso and back to Houston where we are now living.
